New update of Atom/RSS/Twitter News Reader for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino

Last week > PAVONE published a new update of his Atom/RSS/Twitter reader for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino. The update contains no new feature, but some detail improvements. Especially if you are working with the Newspaper functionality and the News preview. The > PAVONE NewsReader application can be used as a Lotus Notes application or as a Sidebar plugin. The main advantage against other Atom/RSS/Twitter reader are, that you can put it on your IBM Lotus Domino server and all people with access can read the news. It is not necessary that each user collects the news from the sources. If you like to try it, it is free of charge for personal usage.

New release of NewsReader: All-in-one: Atom/RSS and Twitter

Since last week the new release 9.6 of the > PAVONE NewsReader is available. The main difference to the release 9.5 is the > Twitter support. This means, that you can subscribe besides to your Atom or RSS feeds to your Twitter feeds.

The NewsReader is not a fully feature Twitter client for Lotus Notes as the > Twitter client by Thomas Adrian or the > TwitNotes plugin by Mikkel Heisterberg. With the NewsReader you can only subscribe to Twitter users. Since the preferred area is the usage in companies, the administrators can decide which users should be followed. So he can creates a new feed document in the NewsReader and enter the uri of the Twitter user, which should be followed. After that he can refresh the feed and gets the tweets of the user. Since the NewsReader contains a sidebar plugin it is possible to get the tweets into the Lotus Notes sidebar.

You can download the PAVONE NewsReader on the > download page. It is free for personal use in a Lotus Notes client.

Some days before Christmas a new version of the > PAVONE NewsReader is available. It is an IBM Lotus Notes/Domino-based RSS/Atom reader. The user can read the news within the application or within a sidebar plugin. The new release 9.5 offers a new user interface. Like the previous versions the personal usage is free. You can download it from the > PAVONE website.
