The car for Notes users

If you add an ‘s’ to the name of the car, you can think you drive your Notes.. 🙂 Last week we (= two long-time Notes developers) rent a Nissan Note for one day. Since my own car is a VW New Beetle the front screen of the Note is a little bit to small. Further the car has a little trunk, but it has enough space in the back. I think the Note is only available in Europe.

Seit Freitagmittag bin ich vom ein-wöchigen Urlaub auf Mallorca zurück. Dort habe ich am Sonntagmorgen am TUI Marathon beim 10-km Lauf teilgenommen. Bei sehr schönen Wetter und Sonnenschein waren die 10 km aber auch das Maximum, was ich an dem Tag geschafft h�tte. Gewohnt haben wir im RIU Festival in Platja de Palma. Da wir keine Pauschalreise gebucht hatten, sind wir auf dem Hinweg mit Air Berlin von Paderborn nach Palma geflogen und auf dem Rückweg mit TUIfly
nach Paderborn. Der Flug mit TUIfly hat mir dabei besser gefallen als der Hinflug. Das Wetter war mit Ausnahme des Mittwochnachmittags auch gut gewesen: Sonnenschein und meist zwischen 20 und 25 Grad, so dass man auch am Strand liegen konnte. Am Mittwoch hatten wir ein Auto gemietet und waren nach Soller gefahren. Anschließend bei Regen über Inca nach Pollenca. Da es aber regnete, ging es gleich über Petra und Manacor zurück.

Finisher

The following video shows my finish of the 10 km run during the TUI Marathon 2008 in Palma de Mallorca. It was my first participation in such an event. After 1:02:50 I have finished the run on place 419 (place 83 in my age group).

Transfer news content in other applications

The third beta of the PAVONE NewsReader 9 application contains an improvement to transfer news content into other applications. Most RSS reader are single user applications with news which will be deleted after a particular time. Besides sending a link to the news in an e-mail, a better solution is to add the content to other relevant documents, such as projects, customer profiles, discussion threads and so on. This means that other people can read the news in the new context. For example, if you put the news content into a discussion thread other people can discuss about it. If you put it into a project folder the news is available if you access the project folder. For this the PAVONE KnowledgeGateway tool will used. Of course, you can to this by copy-and-paste, but then you have to search the applications or fill out some more fields manually. The following chart is from my presentation on Slideshare. Länderspiel Deutschland – Russland in Dortmund

Am Samstagabend war ich zum ersten Mal im Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. Dort fand das Länderspiel Deutschland gegen Russland zur Qualifikation zur WM-Endrunde 2010 in Südafrika statt. Die erste Halbzeit war von der deutschen Mannschaft sehr gut gewesen und so führte die deutsche Mannschaft auch 2:0. Leider gab sie in der zweiten Halbzeit das Heft aus der Hand und man musste bis zum Ende um den Sieg zittern. Der Signal Iduna Park wird auch als das schönste Stadion in Deutschland gepriesen. Allerdings kann ich mich dem nicht anschließen. Wir hatten Plätze ganz oben bekommen und man schaute zum Teil in das herunterhängende Dach hinein. Auch dauerte das Heruntergelangen von den Plätzen ziemlich lange. Möchte nicht wissen, wie das in einem Notfall funktioniert. Der Einlass beim Stadion war der schlechteste, was ich bisher erlebt habe. Ein Gedränge wie schon lange nicht mehr. Kann auch besser organisiert werden. Ansonsten war es aber recht schön gewesen.

Flutlichtspiel: Paderborn – Bielefeld

Am Freitagabend habe ich das erste Spiel in der paragon arena unter Flutlicht bewundert. In einem Freundschaftsspiel spielte der SC Paderborn 07 gegen Arminia Bielefeld. Obwohl das Result 2:2 war, war Paderborn doch besser gewesen. Bei Arminia Bielefeld gab es im Spielaufbau sehr viele Abspielfehler auch hatte man das Gefühl, dass die Mannschaft nicht eingespielt war. Leider verflachte das Spiel in der zweiten Halbzeit doch ziemlich bis zur Endphase, die dann wieder gut war.

EULUC was migrated to IBM Lotus Connections 2.0

Today I saw that the EULUC platform was migrated to IBM Lotus Connections 2.0. Of couse, it looks nicer… 🙂

Don’t eat alcohol

The video is not new. It is an excerpt from a movie called Animals Are Beautiful People and shows some animals which eat the Marula fruits. But as mentioned in the Wikipedia article maybe the alcohol is not the fault for the drunkness of the animals…

Paderborn at night

Today is a holiday in Germany and yesterday evening was a midnight shopping in Paderborn. Nearly all shops in the city were opened since it was the 25-year-anniversary of the advertising association of Paderborn. Serveral buildings were illuminated. Below you see an image of a part of the city.
