Toolbook and OpenScript

leave a comment »

Today I cleaned up and found a package with Toolbook software. Thirteen years ago, I worked on my master thesis. For this I developed a presentation software, such as Lotus Freelance, but with more multimedia and hyperlinks functions. Toolbook was a great software, smiliar to HyperCard and used the book paradigma. This means, that an application was a book and contains several pages. Each page could have different objects and methods. The programming language OpenScript was similar to Visual Basic. Sadly Asymetrix decided to develop Toolbook in direction e-Learning software. Thus, it was uninteresting for applications as my Presentation Editor. Now, I found that the company Asymetrix have the name SumTotal and Toolbook exists still as an e-Learning Content Development software.
